Continuing to its march in achieving the objective of developing professional performance in management; Caritas Middle East (MONA), in coordination with Caritas International (CI), held a training workshop entitled “Implementing International Management Standards in Caritas”. From 29 to 31 October 2019 in Beirut – Lebanon.
The workshop was attended by representatives from the countries representing Caritas in the Middle East and North Africa.
The workshop addressed some important issues, such as:
How to make a self-assessment in all areas of management, governance and risk.
Preparation and arrangement for an assessment through the external evaluator.
Improving management practices more effectively to achieve Caritas development goals.
The role of the coordinator, management and evaluator in all these procedures.
Tadros Khaleel
Mr. Tadros Khaleel from Caritas – Egypt participated effectively in the workshop, where Caritas – Egypt is working on the procedures of applying the international standards through the application of self-assessment procedure at the level of various departments, in conjunction with the General Coordinator
It is worthily to mention that the main job of an NGO General Coordinator is to support the development of strategies and programs regarding the uplifting of the civil society, through
Developing and implementing the staff development program, training schedule for new volunteers, develop appropriate tools and methods to build organizational and strong teams.
Scheduling meetings with local NGOs, arranging conference calls, making travel arrangements, planning and organizing workshops to identify their needs for development and training.
The ability to work independently, effective in time management skills and meet deadlines.
Helping the Volunteers in designing ideas, effective tools for fund-raising and providing assistance.
They are the ones who take note of the practices used to help in the development of a community.
They know the right tools and methods to be used for them to produce a strong team for their organization.
They also make sure that there is a good flow of information within their group.
He/she encourages other organizations to participate especially during emergencies and disasters to give assistance.
