Local Fundraising and Social Aids Department

Since the beginning of its activities, in 1995, Caritas Egypt has answered positively, through the Local Fundraising Department, to a wide range of requests for help of many children and families who are coming to our Medico-Social centers and the cases which the fundraising team is welcoming in its office in Caritas Egypt.

Thanks to our benefactors, we have helped in medical hospitalization or treatment, laboratory tests, long term physiotherapies, chest treatments, treatment of cardiology patient, treatment of liver or kidneys ailment, reparation damaged homes, and eyes surgeries.

Another goal of our sector is to acquire sufficient funds to strengthen our youth, from primary school until they finish their University education, whose parents are unable to pay school or University fees, books, remedial courses organized in the government schools for 5 or 6 children because they are confronting other financial obligations (illness, debt, living commitments, etc.).These families are faced with very serious and difficult economic situations that threaten their children and without our intervention they will not complete their education and could be exposed to the streets, drugs, theft or delinquency. In addition, we have taken the responsibility of the Education of the Leprosy patient’s children.

Another main category of interests are the malnourished and vulnerable babies who suffered of anemia and their mothers who were facing very great difficulties; they are visited our Socio-medical centers; and received powder milk, medicines and vitamins. Also, Caritas intervenes to reduce the effects of the handicap by offering special training for Mentally Handicapped Children who are suffering from malformation or various degree of mental handicap in our centers.

With your support, we have succeeded in getting more than 3500 students to pass the secondary school and more than 700 students to be graduated from university. Most of them have graduated; from Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Engineering and etc. Many families are now depending on themselves after supporting them to overcome their debts and their problems and have succeeded in their small projects and could live a decent life. Also, a great number of patients enjoy some haveGood health and were be able to work and support their families.
