‘For a better future’ helps Egyptian and Syrian youth to create their own jobs
Egypt currently faces a difficult socio-economic situation. The crisis in Syria has added an extra burden, as Egypt is now host to more than 100.000 Syrian refugees. Over a quarter of the population in Egypt lives below the national poverty line and unemployment continues to rise. To combat poverty and increase employment opportunities, Caritas Egypt started ‘For a better future’. This vocational training programme helps refugees and Egyptian youth to improve their living conditions.
